Beth Moore Live Simulcast

We are women of substance! Don't worry, we won't be changing our name to WOS! I will get back to that later!
We were conncected with 49 States, 715 churches, 23 denominations and about 70,000 people! WOW! We had 6 altogether from our church, Pat, Colleen,Elaine, Judi and Mom and I. We also saw some women who came to the Loving Well retreat in May! Beth is going to be close to us in the spring of 09, we are going to try to plan to go to one or both of them! Watch for details soon!
NO surprise, Beth's message was convicting, enlightening and challenging.
Her message was based on Luke 8:1-15, The parable of the sower. She gave us 7 points to memorize so we can hide this Word in our heart.
1.Treasure the Wonder! (Lk. 8:10) Jesus said that "the knowlege of the secrets of the Kingdom of God has been given you" What an awesome thought, what a privelege!
2.Protect your heart! (Lk. 8:12) When we hear God's Word, the devil can take it from us unless we protect it, guard it, believe it and live it! Claim it for your own.."that is MY Word, and you cannot have it!"
3.Expect the test! (Lk. 8:13) Apply and call on the Word of God to get you through that time of suffering and trial. Be prepared! I Cor 10:13 says that God always leaves a door of escape for us during those times of temptation. She also pointed out that God gives us trial to make us stand and Satan give us temptations to make us fall.
4.Dig the roots! (Lk. 13) Eph. 3:17 says "being rooted & established in love" We MUST be convinced of how much God loves us. His love will carry you through every time of struggle. A phrase she had us repeat from II Kings 19-29 was...take root below and bear fruit above.
5. Stop the choke! (Lk. 8:14) Anxiety chokes the Word of God out of us! Refer to Phil 4:6-7, a familiar verse. Start speaking to God and to His faithfulness to us, Believe Him! Remember from Believing God? God is who He says He is - God can do what He says He can do - I am who God says I am...
6.Retain the Word! (Lk 8:15) Retain means "to hold in a vice grip, to possess, own. Eccl 11:6 "sow your seed in the morning" Let it get in your soul first thing to sustain you through your day. She suggested that it doesn't have to be a long study, but just 5 minutes. She reminds us that God's Word heals and restores.
7.Press forth to your 100-fold harvest! (Lk. 8:8) This was the driving force of her lesson. We can produce a 100-fold harvest of God's Word! Think of it, what would that do in our life if we allow that seed to take root, if we protect it, water it, breath it, love it, nurture it, retain it! God's promises are for us today! She also reminded that it takes time, it is not instant, we must persevere, "hang in there", "do the thing", then you will see the harvest and what a joyful day!
At the start of this blog I mentioned that we are women of substance.. that was from the beginning of the lesson vs. 1-3. The Bible mentioned 3 women: Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Susanna. These women were helping to support them out of their own means. They were women of means, of substance, and so are we! They were women much like we are today, women with problems, hurts, sin, but God can use our lives as women of substance to have maximum impact from God's Word in our lives. They were women who heard God's Word and acted upon it. There is just so much more, but I cannot express it like Beth can, nor do we have the time.
In summary, we have the opportunity to be Women Of the Word and substance everyday, and activate it in our lives for maximum impact and a 100-fold harvest. How truly exciting!
You have the opportunity to come to the fall Bible Study where we will continue our journey of seeking, and knowing God. Please sign up in Taylor Hall or call one of us. We are ready to start anew! Praise to the Lord!
